Malacca, haven't been there since Primary School!
I remember vaguely the last time I went to Malacca on a primary school trip. I remember it being fun, and I don't remember much other than that. As this was only a day trip to Malacca, I didn't get to see as much as I would have wanted to. But nonetheless, I had a great time. I love A'Famosa just as much as before. And honestly, the town just looks waay more beautiful than it used to be. Maybe it's the fact that it's now officially a UNESCO Heritage City.

Of course, first stop... A'Famosa. Probably one of my most favorite places in Malaysia. There's something calming and soothing about the dark and old mossy walls and the vastness of space once you're inside it. At the sides of the path up to the fort, there were people selling the same souveniers as 10 years ago. You remember those stone pendants hanging on black string that we used to be crazy about? The ones that you can get your name written with marker on the back? Yeah, those kind of souveniers. Oh and not to mention, the wood keychains that you can again get your name written on.
The very famous Malacca square.
Then we headed on to Jonker Street to have an early dinner of....
Chicken rice balls! The restaurant ran out of chicken at umm 5.30pm... We were the last customer to be able to eat in that place. 5.30pm and they were already out of Chicken!!!

Then we stumbled upon this place. Remember Emperor Cheng Ho from China that we learned about in Sejarah? Well apparently, he has a teahouse. haha. Having tea in teahouses in Malaysia is honestly waay more cheaper than having tea in teahouses in China. It was RM30 for a pot of tea for 6 people. How cheap is that! I forget what kind of tea we drank, but the kind to make you feel less bloated after eating or something.

I thought Jonker Street was really pretty. And when it got dark, the night market opened up and it was amazing.! I love love love night markets. The sights, the sounds, the smells... And of course the beautiful architecture of the buildings lining the street.
And of course a trip to Malacca would not be complete if you didn't take a ride in the lavishly decorated trishaws that were available everywhere around the city.
And of course, we ended the night with seafood! At the Portuguese settlement area. So yummy, so yummy. Seafood, with the seabreeze blowing... and kids playing gasing all around you. Simply lovely.
