6 weeks.
So fricking lazy! *sigh* All I want to do is have fun. I'm getting so restless and twitchy here in Miami. Don't get me wrong. I still love it here and I always will. But somehow, I think it's time for a new place to get used to. I think it's time I move on from this place to somewhere unknown and slightly intimidating until I get used to it. Things are happening so fast. There's about 6 weeks left till graduation... 6 weeks to spend time with him. 6 weeks of short conversations from the door of the bro's room. 6 weeks to hang out and laugh with the girls. 6 weeks of watching Friends with Annie and BO. 6 weeks left of attending classes, writing papers, doing homework. 6 weekends of partying. 6 weeks of looking at the red brick buildings of Miami. 6 weeks of early morning work shifts. 3 weeks (or less) to enjoy potato bowls (they're only served every alternate Monday). Time really is flying by so fast. The beginning of the week comes, and I can't wait for the end of the week... And then the weekend goes by, and everything starts again. 6 times of that, and the end is here.

It's St. Patrick's Day!
Technically, it doesn't really concern me. I'm not Irish of any sort. Neither did I really even know that people celebrate St. Patrick's Day at all since coming to the US. I mean I knew the whole deal about the Irish and green and the leprechaun but that's about it. Reminder to self: Ask Bridget who St. Patrick's is. And why drinking is such a big part of this celebration.
Didn't really do anything to be a part of this celebration except go out for one drink of Strongbow and wear green tonight. What I was a part of though, was Miami's version of St. Patrick's Day. A very own Miami student inspired St. Patrick's Day that we call Green Beer Day. In the beginning this was just a day to retaliate against Miami making Spring Break on the week of St. Patrick's Day so students wouldn't celebrate and drink during a weekday. But now... Green Beer Day, is seriously the biggest festive day of the year for our school. Students make business ventures out of this day by designing and selling GBD tshirts and other apparel and accessories. Bars and Clubs uptown have special promotions of green alcohol drinks. Everyone wears a green shirt to class. (Everyone also goes drunk to class, but lets not talk about that). I was always too innocent and scared to be a part of this celebration.. it just always seemed to be only for the rowdy Americans. But this year, I finally was a part of the celebration. Didn't go all out or go all crazy or anything. The tradition is that the celebration uptown starts at 5am. Restaurants uptown serve green breakfast food (and pizza, because its the perfect alcohol food) starting 4.30am. Then there's green beer and other drink promotions all day until 2am the following day. So basically, the idea is to wake up, put on your GBD shirt and anything else you have that's green, have a green breakfast with a drink in the morning. Maybe take a nap if you have the time. Go to class. Maybe that a nap again if you don't have too many classes. Then go out again for drinks in the night and dance all the way till 2am, still in your GBD shirt mind you! That's basically what I did. Except I did it all sober. I hated it when I saw kids in my classes with green lips and tongue and a green face like they were gonna throw up because they were so drunk and I vowed never to be one of them. And so I wasn't. The following are the chronicles of my first and last GBD...

9am in the morning on the streets of Uptown. After hosting a not-green breakfast in our apartment for a few friends (not-green because green coloring in all the supermarkets were sold out). We headed to our usual hangout: 45 to grab a green beer.
Check out our cool GBD shirts! And the Green Beer!
Annie and I sharing a slice of fattenning pizza before heading for home at about 10 am.
Night time dinner at Sushi Nara, all decked out in green - the asian way. :D Then PUB CRAWL!!!
Hui and I found a very crazy but very nice green guy? Don't know how else to describe him. haha.
Here's the very happy Pub Crrawl members including Hui who took this picture. Ah it was fun. Stopping by the bars uptown. Sometimes having a drink, sometimes not. Chatting and poking fun a little here and there. Then a tap on a shoulder to each other to signal that it's time to leave for the next venue. ;D
Last stop for the night. The usual place: 45! Check out the sea of green! Imagine this on a bigger scale. Imagine this on the scale of maybe 80-90% of the whole student body. Aaaahhh... now you know how big this day is.!
Senior year is so full of many Firsts for me. And it makes me so happy. It's the year to do everything possible before graduating from this place that watched me grow and mature to who I am now. The year to experience as much as I can with the people who are the sunshine of my days here. So that I can graduate saying that I've done the most that I could in all my days here.

Ah I miss the Sun!
Needless to say, Florida was amazing. It wasn't as warm as I expected it to be but having the beach to greet me every morning, the sound of waves all throughout the day, my new blue pokie dot bikini, and all the people I love in one apartment together... it was an awesome Spring Break. That's one thing I can cross of the Graduation Bucket List: "Legit Spring Break" - check! -
A view of the sunrise from the side mirror of the car at 6am in the morning. This was halfway into the drive to Panama City Beach.
When we first arrived in PCB.. Ah.. I was so excited! You have no idea!!
Part of the group on the beach. Annie and BO is missing...
Mini-Golfing together in the cold. It was kinda cold. The wind was blowing. Still better than Oxford though! There was some intense competition going round that day!
The numerous breakfasts we had together every morning at PCB. This is the mess on the counter every single morning... Bread, peanut butter, jam, napkins, water, orange juice, cookies, milk, eggs, plates, cutlery... all jumbled up together with us surrounding the counter.
There's my roomies! That's us at the Captain Jack's Seafood Buffet. See, Annie's holding up a crab leg. She inhaled those crab legs like it was air.. :D
And this is Club La Vela that we went to. They had a Foam Party the last night we were there. Foam, Bubbles, Half naked Guys, Half Naked Girls, Bikinis, Muscles, (some) Fat, Fake Tans, (possibly) Real Tans, Drunk people... EVERYWHERE!!!
Common sight in PCB... guys puking all over the place. And Monster trucks EVERYWHERE. Seems like monster trucks are the common party vehicles in PCB.
This is the whole group together before leaving PCB. Look at our apartment! It was amazing. And the view.. ah spectacular!
The view from the balcony of our apartment. Damn, I miss it already!
The weather is miserable on the first day of school after Spring Break. It is however, supposed to be warm and sunny the rest of the week. Hopefully that is true. It'll be the first day of Spring this Saturday.. the 20th of March... my Birthday *dum dum dum*.. yay!

Trying to Balance...
"Problems arise in that one has to find a balance between what people need from you and what you need for yourself".
I don't know why but I have an incessant need to have to please people. Not people that I barely know, but people that I really know. People that are so close to me. People that I care about. I'm like Monica from friends, I can't say a firm "No, I can't" to people. I find it too difficult. If I can do it, sometimes even if I can't, I would go out of the way to try and do it. I say yes because I want to help them, I want to do things for them. I care about them, and I would go out of the way for them. But sometimes I wonder, would they really go out of the way for me? I know most of them would, but at the same time they care about themselves too and also think about themselves first. Am I doing too much of myself that slowly, I am losing my own voice? Am I doing too much for others that I forget to do things for myself? Sometimes when I decide I should be selfish and do what I want to do for myself for a change, I find myself caring too much about how others would feel about my decision. Would they think me as selfish? Would they get annoyed at me and think that I am ignoring them?
I always make decisions to please other people without thinking of myself. Because honestly, I am easy going enough to be able to go along with what others want to do.. not all the time but most of the time at least. Sometimes I think that everyone else is like me.. that they can go along with what others decide but honestly that is not the case. I have to realize that I can't please everyone and sometimes I really need to make decisions for myself no matter what others say.
Okay.. now.. gonna start thinking of the beach and the beach only... :D

Spring Break!
Spring Break starts at 10am tomorrow for me! Yay!
The friends and I decided to head on down to Panama City Beach, Florda for our first ever legit spring break. We're renting cars and taking turns to drive down there. It'll be a 14 hour drive... and I am kinda sorta nervous about things. What if during the drive we get sick and annoyed at each other and end up giving each other the silent treatment? We're going to be kinda cramped, 5 to a car the entire time... wonder how that will turn out...
We're leaving at 12am on Saturday (technically Sunday) and should arrive at PCB on Sunday afternoon.
Hopefully it'll be sunny and happy all throughout the time we're there. Hopefully none of us will get into arguments with each other, or feel left out from each other.
Hopefully the weather will be kind to us and provide us with plenty of sunshine and only sunshine.
May our drive be smoothsailing and without dangers. May we arrive safely and well.
I'm so excited to get some sun. The long winter days have been really dreary!
