Still Exploring on my own...

Went back to Fisherman's Wharf on my own yesterday to try and get on the ferry to Alcatraz Prison. Except that my stomach made the decision to "Oh, let's get upset and have a party today!" So while I was sitting on the bench, watching the seagulls and the waves of the water, debating if getting on a boat with a very very upset stomach would be a very bad idea... I decided "Yes! I'm gonna get on the boat" so I head to the ticket counter and right when it's my turn, they stopped selling tickets for the last boat to Alcatraz. Yay for me... NOT!!! So that was out of the picture. My stupid stomach! At the Wharf, I was stopped by a somewhat creepy looking middle-aged guy who looked like he was some kinda officer. He stopped me saying, "Mam, I have to fine you!" and I got somewhat defensive and a lil scared, "For what? Walking across the carpark?" He said, "Because you're not smiling enough *hands me a 'I Love your Smile' car sticker*". I smile. Could not help it. "I'm looking for donations for charity." My smile upturned a little bit but I pulled out my wallet, had to reward that neat trick at least. Pulled a dollar out and gave it to him. "Mam, you have more than a dollar in there. I have change for a ten!" "Sorry I don't have enough cash, this is all I have. I can't." "Are you single?" *pause* "Umm.. no. Why?" "Because you have a very pretty smile and I would love to ask you out!" "Umm.. hehe. thanks. But no thanks. Bye!" Yeah.. creepy encounter that kinda made me laugh.

Then I walked all the way to Coit Tower.. Thought I would take a shortcut, so I very proudly navigated and realized that the tower could not be accessed through my "shortcut". No wonder there was only one arrow on one road showing the entrance of the tower. *smacks forehead* Damn. I was too proud to admit defeat, so I was determined to get to the top of this tower, and actually managed to do it all on my own, huffing and puffing on the hilly roads of San Fran. I even managed to navigate my way to Lombard Street, the world's crookedest street. It was pretty!

Coming out of the tower, I decided to walk through Chinatown to get a bite to eat. Remember my fetish with bakeries.. yeah I was craving for something from an Asian bakery. Got what I wanted at Chinatown and heading back to Steph's apartment with a very upset stomach. And very sore legs. Ugh, I was soo tired. Haven't walked so much in forever!

Stomach's still a lil upset today after some Thai fried rice. Took some Pepto, it's feeling better. Gonna head back to Chinatown for Hui's binbin biscuits... and find some snacks for Chinese New Year celebration back in Oxford. Gotta match Qw's Chinese New Year music cd and yee sang that she brought back from Malaysia!
