Me and the Great Wall
Yeah, I finally finally can say that I've been to the Great Wall. I can finally say that I've seen with my own eyes one of the greatest wonders of the world. We went to the Mutianyu part of the Great Wall which is supposed to be the best part of the wall, that's not too much commercialized. Walking up the steep, never-ending staircase to get to the wall was a real pain. Me being the unfit self that I am, it was a basically torturous journey up. Every 10 steps or so, I had to stop and take a breather. But once we were up there. It was all worth it. All the sweat and wheezing was worth it.
The sign that greeted us. Welcome to the Mutianyu Great Wall Next Time. China has the most 'fail' English signs. It's pretty hilarious.
On our way up. I had to take my jacket off and put it on again a couple of times.. Couldn't decide if I was cold or hot.
We finally arrived at the wall. Walking the length of it made me wonder how this wall was even built! How did the people get so many bricks all the way up here?
The wall was really steep uphill and really steep downhill as well. It was amazing though. Really amazing.

Of course, any tourist spot in China would be incomplete without Chinese vendors selling souveniers and random big and small trinkets. These vendors really were something, if you were a foreigner, they cling on to you like crazy. When I start speaking Chinese to them to bargain... you can see their interest start dwindling.. coz it means I'm gonna bargain. Haha. It's hilarious to see their facial expressions and enthusiasm gradually decrease with me talking to them.
Yay!! Now I can really say I've been to the Great Wall!
